The chairs and officers for GECMUN II will be trained by consultants flying in from the United States in August.
The chairs from Branksome Hall Asia, North London Collegiate and Korea International School Jeju will be trained at the KIS campus for a 2.5 day weekend boot camp training for chairs this summer. We hope that through utilizing the most cutting edge and advanced group in the MUN world, Best Delegate, that our chairs will be well prepared for the conference in February. Furthermore, we hope that through Best Delegates adviser training that all three MUN programs at Branksome Hall Asia, North London Collegiate School, and KIS will improve and advance to the next level. Our chair trainer will be Mr. Avik Chakravarty from Best Delegate. Mr. Chakravarty graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. in History. He began participating in Model United Nations in his first year of high school, and served as Head Delegate in his final year. He won multiple Best Delegate awards in high school, including at the Stanford University Model United Nations Conference. Upon entering university, Avik joined Berkeley Model United Nations, which hosts an annual international conference for over 1500 high school students from around the world. Avik served as Chief of Staff for Berkeley Model United Nations in his final year, and now sits as a board member of the student-run non profit. Avik has taught Model United Nations in multiple countries, including the People's Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Qatar, Honduras, and in the United States of America. |
