Dear Delegates, Advisors, and Enthusiasts,
It is my sincere honour to welcome you to the third Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN). This year’s conference will be held at Branksome Hall Asia located in Jeju Island, South Korea from February 18th to 19th, 2017. Since our very first conference in 2014, GECMUN has been providing prospective global leaders with a remarkable experience in debate and diplomacy. Throughout the conference, delegates were presented with a platform to discuss international affairs and draft resourceful and practical resolutions. Our five General Assembly committees this year are especially delving into resolving current international disputes and offering you with an unprecedented insight into approaching world politics. What GECMUN also imparts is a unique experience with crisis and hybrid committees. While Model United Nations conferences are often stereotyped as tedious and unimaginative, GECMUN is striving to be a game-changer. Our crisis and hybrid committees this year vary from Historical Crisis Committee to Delian League and Disney Corporation. Such exceptional committees will undoubtedly enrich you with the most fulfilling, entertaining, and accomplishing two days. Dear all the participants of GECMUN III,
First and the foremost, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the participants of the third Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN) conference. It is such a privilege to invite you all to Jeju island - the largest and the most beautiful island of South Korea - as the Secretary General of GECMUN III. After serving as the chair of GECMUN I and II, I could not withstand my passion to expand GECMUN as a place for learning, enrichment and communication. This year, I took another step forward to support in thriving and blooming GECMUN III with other enthusiastic leaders under the goal of “Changing the game” of Model United Nations in Korea. Having been to more than 15 Model United Nations conferences so far, I truly understand how nervous and thrilling it is to attend the first ever conference as a delegate, chair, staff, press, or secretariat member. I sincerely wish that you could flourish your zeal and desire through exchanging thoughts, experience and memories. No matter which position you are holding at GECMUN III, I will try my best to guarantee every single one of you the best MUN experience possible. Greetings, esteemed delegates.
It is my utmost pleasure to serve you as a deputy secretary general for GECMUN III. I cannot wait to meet all the delegates who are passionate and determined about engaging in debates, sharing ideas and discussing solutions for global issues. I remember my first MUN experience. I once was a delegate as well who was nervous about meeting new people and afraid of the unknowns. However, because I knew that the biggest failure is not trying itself, I threw myself into the challenge. I am so grateful that I did because now MUN has become an inseparable part of my life. People I have met at various MUNs have now become my life-long friends and I have developed greater interest and knowledge of the world I am living in. So delegates, fully embrace this great opportunity to engage in enthusiastic debates about current affairs of global significance. I also urge you to break out of your comfort zone. Go up to the podium and let the other delegates know what you have got to say. You surely have a lot of brilliant ideas to share. Dear Honorable Delegates, Guests, Advisors, and Administrative Officers,
It is my honor to serve this year as the Deputy Secretary General of the Third Global Education City Model United Nations (GECMUN), a Model United Nations conference which I have dedicated myself from the very first conference. The secretariats this year are excited to prepare for an another inspiring conference, to not only give a long-lasting experience, but to truly impact everyone who becomes a part of this conference. Model United Nations is an activity which truly changes the lives of the participants including myself. Even though I have participated in over 35 conferences in Korea and around the world, it is always the most exciting to prepare for GECMUN, which I can say as the most unique, and the most exotic MUN conference in Korea. This year, GECMUN will feature 5 conventional committees, and 3 special crisis committees designed to provide the best experience for every delegates. The secretariats and the chairs will be working at our fullest effort in every process, and extensively prepare to make everyone smile at the end. Therefore, I hope that all of you will enjoy our premier GECMUN experience, and make GECMUN be the very experience which becomes your milestone not only in your MUN career but also in your life.
