Secretariat
Hajin Ruy
Secretary General
Hello, my name is Hajin Ruy, a Junior in Korea International School Jeju. Welcome to JejuMUN 9! I will be serving as your Secretariat General for this conference. I started MUN in my freshman year, and I will confidently assert that joining this conference was one of the best choices I have made so far in my high school year. From MUN, I have gained my public speaking skill, social skills, and most importantly, critical thinking. I hope that this conference is a place for all of the delegates to get what I have got from my past conferences, or even more. All of our secretariats and advisors has been working hard to make this a memorable event. We hope you enjoy the conference and learn a lot from this. Delegates, see you soon!

SiHeon Stella Lee
Deputy Secretary General
Welcome to JejuMUN IX! I’m Stella Lee, and will be serving you all as the Deputy Secretary General of the conference. I’m a junior in Korea International School Jeju, and has been part of Model United Nation since 2018. This year, we are finally hosting offline, in-school JejuMUN with over 250 participants from four different schools in the island. JejuMUN is the conference that taught me the basics of MUN and watched me grow from a delegate to a secretariat. I genuinely hope for each and every one of you will gain "something" out of this conference; It may be a negotiation skill, lifelong friendship, or any feeling of accomplishment. Whatever that may be, I would like to invite all of you to be part of this arduous yet worthy journey. Please embrace the challenges that JejuMUN offers and don’t be afraid to add your voice to us. If you have any prior questions or concerns, please feel free to contact [email protected] or any of our secretairts. Good luck, and see you all in November.

Eunju Seo
Under Secretary General
Greetings to all delegates. It is my pleasure to welcome you to JEJUMUN IX. I am a rising senior from North London Collegiate School Jeju, serving as the Under Secretary General. When I reminisce about my first participation in JEJUMUN, I can still almost feel the nervousness of the day before the conference. I was a delegate discussing the agenda of Maritime Crime in UNODC, unsure if everything would work out but going in head-on. To my joy, it turned out amazing, communicating and debating with fellow delegates, and since then, that spark had me coming for more opportunities each year! Through the experience of MUN, I have not only learned to widen my perspective on global issues but also developed life-long friendships that I cherish. Just like how MUN helped shape integral parts of my highschool life, I sincerely hope it will be the same for you. We, the secretariats and chairs, will be working diligently to deliver the best MUN experience, and I hope you enjoy all that we have prepared!

Hello, I'm Lynn Kim from KISJ, a Marketing Director of JEJUMUN IX. My job began from a logo design that defines the primary identity of JEJUMUN. Moreover, I'll be designing design goods and social media pages that highlight our committees and events. I hope my contribution could enrich the "aesthetics" of JEJUMUN and offer more attraction to the upcoming events and for all participants.

Advisors
Nickolas Harris
Korea International School Jeju Director I teach history at Korea International School Jeju, and have been on the island for the past four years. Previous to South Korea, I taught history and coached MUN at Bahrain and Honduras. I love soccer, history, and MUN.
I have find this conference to be one of the most inspiring MUN conferences to be part of. The conference is delegate-centered and is focused on providing attendees with an entertaining and educational experience. The small committee sizes provide ease when it comes to delegates having to contact chairs, and vice-versa. The chairs do not look at the conference as a resume padder but are truly invested in providing delegates with the best experience possible, and I firmly believe our format of having adults selecting the chairs instead of having high school students select their friends is a superior system to many of the MUN conferences in the Korean circuit. We pride our conference to be constantly breaking new barriers. We are an ambitious conference, constantly trying out new committees, and continually expanding in size. I look forward to seeing the conference continue to expand in both quality and quantity. Nickolas Harris Korea International School Jeju Director |
